Ingredients

  • Two cups of milk
  • Three tablespoons of cornstarch or corn flour
  • ¼ cup of granulated sugar
  • Two cardamom seeds – crushed
  • One tablespoon of crushed pistachios
  • One teaspoon of rose petals – edible

Instructions

  1. Mix a half cup of cold milk and corn flour
  2. Whisk well to create a smooth texture
  3. Add the remaining milk to a medium saucepan
  4. Now add sugar and crushed cardamon seeds
  5. Set the heat to medium and cook the mixture until it is hot
  6. Stir to dissolve the sugar
  7. Once done, bring the mixture to the simmer
  8. Next, add corn flour and milk mixture and whisk together
  9. Continue whisking on low heat to achieve a pudding consistency
  10. Once you have achieved a thick pudding, remove it from the heat
  11. Add the dessert to the bowls and refrigerate for a few hours
  12. Garnish the Mahalabia with edible rose petals or crushed pistachios
