1.    Jebel Hafeet

Located in Al Ain, the only mountainous region in Abu Dhabi, Jebel Hafeet offers many hiking trails. The Green Mubazzarah Park may be closed due to the Covid-19 regulations, so check carefully before choosing this trail. There is also a “smuggling route” that starts from the Desert Park on the other side of the mountain. Both routes are suitable for intermediate climbers and not recommended for beginners or children.

2.    Mount Hatta

Hatta is a popular spot for families and friends with its fun adventure center, Hatta Wadi Hub. There are also several hiking trails for exploring Mount Hajar. The route spans about 33 kilometers, and you can expect historic villages, Wadis, hills, farms, dams, and hiking trails.

3.    Mleiha

When you visit Mleiha, you will encounter beautiful dunes and the geological wonders of the Jebel Mleiha fossil rock. We recommend starting with some light hiking and rock climbing before getting into the serious stuff. Because there are no marked routes or trails, make sure you have a map or smartphone application to reach the summit.

4.    Jebel Jais

Jebel Jais is divided into two hiking areas, with six hiking trails of varying difficulties. Thanks to the tremendous efforts of the Ras Al Khaimah government, Jebel Jais has become a hub for adventure seekers. In addition, it is home to some of the highest restaurants in the country.

5.    Ain Al-Sheria

Ain Al-Sheria is another best place in the UAE with a beautiful hiking trail. The route is undoubtedly unique and boasts striking bright reddish-brown rocks and vast areas of ancient petroglyphs. The 8.8 kilometers trail is well-marked thanks to the recent efforts of Fujairah Adventures. However, this is a challenging hike and requires some experience.

6.    Mount Al-Rabi

The Al Rabi Mountain trail is probably one of the most popular and most accessible hiking trails in the UAE. The track is flagged and offers fabulous sunrise and sunset views. Hiking the six kilometers of the trail at a moderate pace will take you about three hours.

7.    Wadi Shawka

Wadi Shawka is about an hour away from Ras Al Khaimah and is ideal for hiking adventurers, including people who have no prior experience. We recommend heading to the Shawka Dam and taking the stairs directly to the summit. On the other hand, you can choose the trail easily visible from the small parking lot. The track is well-marked, making it safe for families with children.

8.    Wadi Abadilah

Wadi Abadilah is another mesmerizing and adventure-filled area in the UAE with a trail that lets you explore the beautiful natural scenery. It is an easy to moderate trail through farmland with mango trees, banana trees, and date palm trees. The Wadi has a lot of rain every year. So, you can find beautiful streams or rock pools to relax and unwind.

9.    Wadi Monay

Wadi Monay has a hiking trail suitable for beginners. It has a 1.5 kilometer of the hiking trail that takes about three to four hours to complete. Not only do you explore the Bedouin lifestyle and culture, but you also enjoy the breathtaking views. There are also intriguing rocks, plants, and animals along the way, making it an excellent hike for adventure lovers.

10. Jebel Qihwi

At 1,792 meters above sea level, Jebel Qihwi is one of the most beautiful mountains in the Hajar mountain range. It crosses the border with Oman, but the picturesque terrain and scenic views are worth the trip. It is not technically a mountain climb, but you need to be physically fit.

Final Words

The United Arab Emirates is one of the best countries in the Middle East for tourists because it offers something to everyone, including scenic, adventurous, and adrenaline-fueled hiking trails. Until Next Time!
