Arab Heavy Industries runs a shipyard on the coast of Ajman, about 30 kilometres from Dubai. The 27 hectare yard has both road and sea access and includes the Al Zora dry dock, which was commissioned in 2000. The company builds and converts vessels, repairs ships and carries out steel fabrication for marine, offshore and engineering projects. Its customers include shipowners and offshore contractors from the region.
