BioSapien is a biotechnology company based at Abu Dhabi Global Market on Al Maryah Island. Its main product is MediChip, a biodegradable implant made by 3D printing that is placed in the tumour bed after surgery. The implant is designed to release cancer therapy locally over about 28 days, aiming to concentrate treatment where it is needed and limit effects on the rest of the body. The product is under clinical development.
