Emirates Global Aluminium is the state-backed aluminium company formed from the union of the Dubai and Abu Dhabi smelting businesses, whose roots go back to 1979. It operates smelters at Al Taweelah in Abu Dhabi and Jebel Ali in Dubai and casts the metal into billets, foundry alloys and other value-added forms for customers in construction, transport and packaging. Its product range includes branded lower-carbon and recycled aluminium lines, including metal produced with solar power. The company also runs a recycling business and is a key supplier to downstream manufacturers in the UAE.
