Petrochemical company producing polyethylene and polypropylene at its complex in Al Ruwais Industrial City, Abu Dhabi.

Borouge was set up in 1998 as a partnership between ADNOC and Borealis and runs its main production complex in Al Ruwais Industrial City, west of Abu Dhabi city. The plants turn feedstock into polyolefins, mainly polyethylene and polypropylene, along with cross-linked polyethylene used to insulate power cables. Its grades go into pipes for water and gas networks, packaging films, automotive parts, agricultural products and healthcare items. The company has its head office in Abu Dhabi, also runs a compounding plant in Shanghai, and has added recycled plastic to its product range.
