UAE Itinerary Builder: Day-by-Day Trip Planner for the Emirates

Pick the emirates you want to visit, how many days you have and what you enjoy, and the builder lays out a morning, afternoon and evening plan for each day. Every stop links to one of our guides, where you can check prices and opening hours. Nothing is booked.

How does the itinerary builder work?

You tell it three things: where you will go (any of the seven emirates), how many days you have and what you enjoy, such as landmarks, the outdoors, food, shopping, culture or family fun. The builder then picks ideas from The UAE Blog's own published guides that match those choices and arranges them into days.

Each line in your plan links to the guide it came from. That is where you find the details: what to expect, how to get there, prices and opening hours. The plan is a draft for you to adjust, not a booking.

How is each day planned?

Every day is split into three parts:

  • Morning: the best time for outdoor sights and heritage areas, especially from May to September when the midday heat is intense.
  • Afternoon: a good slot for indoor places like museums, malls and aquariums.
  • Evening: dinner, souqs, waterfronts and sunset spots, when the air is cooler.

Each day is labelled with the emirate it takes place in, so you can see at a glance when you move from one to the next. Some days may show as a free day: time to rest, swim or go back to a place you loved. On a longer trip, that breathing room matters.

A worked example

Say you have 4 days, you choose Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and you tick culture and food. Your plan might look like this:

  1. Day 1: Dubai. Morning in the old town and the creek, afternoon in a museum, evening at a restaurant from our dining guide.
  2. Day 2: Dubai. Morning at a landmark, afternoon somewhere cool indoors, evening in a souq.
  3. Day 3: Abu Dhabi. Morning at a mosque or heritage site, afternoon at a cultural district, evening by the water.
  4. Day 4: Abu Dhabi. Morning sightseeing, then a free afternoon before you head home.

That is 4 days x 3 parts = up to 12 slots, filled from guides that match culture and food in those two emirates. Change one thing, like adding Sharjah or ticking family fun, and press the button again for a new plan. For a ready-made example, read our 7-day UAE itinerary.

Tips for a good UAE itinerary

  • Group days by emirate. Driving between them takes time, so avoid crossing the country and back on the same day.
  • Keep outdoor plans for the morning or evening in the hot months. Our best time to visit tool shows what each month is like.
  • In Dubai, the metro links many of the big sights. Our Dubai metro guide explains lines, cards and fares.
  • Leave at least one free half day on trips of four days or more. Jet lag and the heat can both slow you down.
  • Once your plan is set, add up the costs with our trip budget planner.

What this tool does not do

The builder does not book tickets, tours or hotels, and it does not show live prices or opening times. It only suggests places we have written about. Times, prices and rules change, especially around Ramadan and public holidays, so open each linked guide and check the official website of the place before you go.

Frequently asked questions

How many days do you need to see the UAE?

Four or five days is enough for Dubai plus a day in Abu Dhabi. With a week or more, you can add Sharjah, the mountains of Ras Al Khaimah or the east coast in Fujairah.

Does the itinerary builder book anything?

No. It builds a suggested plan with links to our guides. You book tickets, tours and hotels yourself.

Can I visit Abu Dhabi as a day trip from Dubai?

Yes. The drive is usually around an hour and a half each way, depending on where you start and the traffic, so a full day works well.

Are prices and opening hours included in the plan?

Not in the plan itself. Each stop links to one of our guides, and you should also check the venue's official site, as times and prices change.

Can I plan a trip to all seven emirates?

Yes, select them all. It works best with a week or more, so you are not spending most of each day on the road.
